The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a world-class marine educational attraction, nestled on beautiful Yaquina Bay, in Newport, Orgeon.

The Aquarium is a vital educational resource for Oregon. The Aquarium is a center of excellence for ocean literacy and plays an active role in conservation and animal rehabilitation efforts.

Exhibits at the Oregon Coast Aquarium are known internationally. Exhibits range from those you can touch and hear to those you can see and explore. Visitors experience the etheral magic of jellyfish. Enjoy watching sea otters, harbor seals, and California sea lions.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium is dedicated to providing excellent care for animals and is a leader in global wildlife conservation, and a link to helping anims in their native habitats.

The Aquarium Garden, 40 acres, has a winding path across a trickling, forest creek. Towering creek dogwood, trees, big leaf maple trees. There is a small beaver dam, with a tranquil saltwater marsh beyond the trees.

Just hours ago, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and new Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe announced details of Wyoming’s wolf management plan that would allow wolves to be shot on sight across most of the state.
Pups at their dens, pregnant females, parents bringing food back to the pups – they could all be killed for any reason across most of the state during most of the year. This is not only unethical, it undermines the continued recovery of the Northern Rockies grey wolf.
Tell the Fish and Wildlife Service that you’re outraged by their capitulation to anti-wolf extremists in Wyoming. Call the Service toll-free at:
1-800-344-WILD (9453)
And deliver this simple message:
“My name is [Your Name] and I’m calling from [Your Town], [Your State] to let Director Dan Ashe know that I’m outraged by the Fish and Wildlife Service’s support for Wyoming’s wolf management plan. This proposal is unscientific and unconscionable and would allow wolves to be shot on sight in most areas of the state outside Yellowstone National Park.”

Earthjustice is a non-profit, public interest law firm dedicated to protecting the magnificent places, natural resources, wildlife, to defend the right of all people to a healthy environment.

Earthjustice works through the courts on behalf of citizen groups, scientists, etc., to ensure government agencies and private interests follow the law.

On Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. Earthjustice lawyers work to protect and strenghten federal government laws, preserve special places, like Arctic tundra and wildlife in Alaska. Founded in 1947, Defenders of Wildlife is one of the country's leaders in science-based, results-oriented wildlife conservation. We stand out in our commitment to saving imperiled wildlife and championing the Endangered Species Act, the landmark law that protects them.

Funding

People who care about wildlife generously offer their support to Defenders of Wildlife. In 2008, Defenders of Wildlife's more than one million members and supporters contributed $31 million as well as countless hours working for our wildlife and wild lands. Law firms, broadcast media outlets and others also generously donated their time and expertise. While support from individuals and foundations remained strong, overall income decreased from the previous year largely because of a decline in investment income. Whether in the field, the courts or on Capitol Hill, it is the steadfast support of our donors that allows Defenders to sustain its programs and public education efforts.
